I liked how they worked with me to let me check out glasses while I waited for my dilation. I also like how the staff who showed me the glasses were very clear about what my copays were on lens extras and how much my insurance covered for frames. They they were able to show me the area of the store where they had frames that would be completely covered and let me know that I could of course choose from other offerings and just pay out of pocket. I loved that!

Staff was welcoming and friendly. Hubby and I were explained the necessary papers to be signed and we’re prepped efficiently before we saw the doctor. Loved our choice of doctor. She was kind and gentle and welcomed any questions about our eye condition. Staff who attended to our prescription glasses knew her job well. We had a superb experience here.. I give this Memorial Eye location five stars.

Dr. Amelia Holbrook founded Memorial Eye Center in 1990 with the mission forming a team of independent doctors and optometric professionals, united in a commitment to provide exceptional eye health exams and customized eyewear solutions. Raised in Killeen, Texas, Dr. Holbrook studied biochemistry and genetics at Texas A&M University prior to earning her doctorate of optometry, magna cum laude, from the University of Houston College of Optometry. Dr. Holbrook has extensive experience in virtually all aspects of optometry and is a leader at incorporating new technologies to advance the proficiency of comprehensive eyecare. She has a particular passion for specialty and complicated contact lenses and pediatric visual development.
Dr. Holbrook has held various positions on the board of the Harris County Optometric Society and has provided optometric humanitarian aid in Guatemala. During her spare time, Dr. Holbrook enjoys “clean” nutritional cooking, gardening, photography, country and western dancing, and has a fondness for animals of all shapes and sizes. Dr. Holbrook is available for english and spanish language exams.

There was no wait and they had other patients. I was checked within 5 minutes upon arriving and signing in. Would definitely come back, my coworkers prefer this place because they are professionals but also give great care to their patients !

If you’re going for something other than getting a lens prescription, let the staff know when you arrive, I had to go for a general eye exam and the staff and the Doctor were very good!!
