She earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of California, Berkeley and her medical degree at the University of California, San Francisco where she developed an interest in health disparities and caring for vulnerable populations. She moved to New York City in 2013 to train at New York University Medical Center/Bellevue Hospital Center’s Internal Medicine Primary Care program. Although Dr. Tang was professional and was kind - I didn't feel that the conditions in which I was seeing her for were addressed. Other than having my weight and blood pressure addressed by the medical assistant, Dr. Tang did not do any check-ups that I would expect an initial appointment to have - perhaps, the physical checking of the suspected area of concern or at least a regular check up of the body or even a suggestion for a blood test to figure out what the cause was. Instead, much of the visit was concentrated on encouraging the administration of a shot (which I was assured that I should get, even if I've received it before). I am definitely reconsidering whether to come back for another visit.

I had to wait a little bit but not too bad, I was able to see Dr. Tang with 30 minutes of arriving, and the MA prepped me in the meantime. Dr. Tang was thorough, reviewed and verified previous notes with me, and very personable.

Staff and doctor were nice but I spent almost 2 hours there just to get a TDAP shot. Had to wait to be called in 3 separate times, one to get vitals checked, one to see the doctor, and another to finally get the shot.

Dr Amy is one of the best doctors I have ever met. She is extremely knowledgeable and took adequate time to listen to me about my medical problem, asked me adequate questions to find any related causes of medical problem and treated me really well. She was very thorough with the checkup. Also she has great knowledge about other medical fields which might not be directly related to her specialty. The staff was also very nice! This was my first visit and I am extremely satisfied with it. She is now my PCP and I highly recommend Dr Amy to everyone!

Had a great two visits to Dr. Tang! The wait was not long only about 15mins. She was very thorough, very knowledgable, took her time to listen to me and my issues, and explained to me what specific medicines profiles were. Very friendly, professional, and personable. The staff and nurses were also very friendly, helpful and humorous. Really enjoyed every aspect of the visit and felt I'm treated well. They cared!

Dr. Tang's office was welcoming; they called 1 day ahead to remind me/confirm my appointment for the following day. They were also gracious enough to let me know I have the option of coming 30 minutes early (as a first timer) to fill out my necessary forms.
I arrived 30 minutes early - which was enough time to fill out all my forms; I was then seen right away. Triage was quick and the nurses were accommodating and super friendly. Dr. Tang saw me afterwards; she was warm and didn't rush the appointment.
Overall, a very well-organized office!

Dr. Shen is great, I went in for stomach problems and she was dedicated to helping me find the cause of the problem. The staff working there is wonderful as well (i.e. helping take care of insurance issues rather than tell me I need to call them/take care of it as with some other medical offices.)

Prior to being seen by the doctor, the reception desk checked to confirm that everything was in order with my insurance (first time patient) and cleared everything by me. They also signed me up with their online portal which allows me to receive all of my test results digitally.

I made an appointment with her based on her excellent reviews and am extremely happy with my decision. Everyone from the front desk staff to nurses were extremely accommodating. Dr. Shen Tang was very kind and patient during my physical examination. As a student on Medicaid, I would highly recommend seeing her!
