Dr. Ana Maria Kausel was born in Colombia and is a native Spanish speaker. She moved to the US to advance her medical training and subsequently completed fellowships in geriatrics, endocrinology and metabolism. She treats all general endocrinology disorders with a special interest in diabetes, obesity and metabolic disorders. She has won awards from Mount Sinai West and Mount Sinai St. Luke's Hospital for her caring, approachable bedside manner and dedication to her patients. She believes that endocrine disorders need to be treated in a comprehensive way, taking into account all aspects of the patient's life.
She combines her medical training and knowledge to provide the most compassionate care for her patients, understanding the challenges and stress that accompany many endocrinological ailments. In her spare time, she loves to practice yoga and volunteers at the animal shelter.
