Dr. Liza Mitchell is a foot and ankle specialist serving the Greater Houston area at Foot and Ankle Specialists of The Woodlands. The practice has three convenient locations in The Woodlands, Houston, and Huntsville, Texas.
Dr. Mitchell graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor's degree in General Biology before earning her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the California School of Podiatric Medicine in the San Francisco Bay Area. Following medical school, she completed a three-year residency training in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at St. Barnabas Hospital in Bronx, New York. Dr. Mitchell also received an Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy from Grossmont College.
Dr. Mitchell believes in providing the best possible medical care and treating foot and ankle conditions by conservative measures as much as possible, with recommendations for surgery only if indicated. She strongly believes in practicing with a great bedside manner and a passion for helping others.
Outside of work, Dr. Mitchell enjoys being involved in community services and events, having volunteered in several community events and health clinics in the past. She collaborated on and completed a homeless outreach community service and research project during medical school and received the prestigious Albert Schweitzer Fellowship award, among other awards and honors.
When Dr. Mitchell isn't helping people get back on their feet, she takes pleasure in traveling to different places, especially anywhere warm with beaches. Dr. Mitchell also likes to try different restaurants and cuisines when she can and when traveling. Dr. Mitchell enjoys sightseeing and exploring different things and places.
