This is a requirement for video and in-person visits.** A Boulder native, Andrew Hildner has spent most of his academic and professional career in Colorado. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder, where he competed in Division I track. He completed his Master's in Physician Assistant Studies at Samuel Merritt University in Oakland, CA. Andrew has spent much of his professional career working in orthopedics and emergency medicine, a background he believes makes him a well-rounded healthcare provider. He chose to join SCL Physicians - Lafayette because he wants to foster long-term relationships with his patients and help them improve through education and follow-up. "I like working with each patient to treat their core concerns. Practicing medicine includes a wonderful mixture of being scientifically minded and having human interaction. To me, there is nothing more beneficial or rewarding than caring for patients." For the past 12 years, Andrew has volunteered with the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, which allows him to continue practicing emergency medicine. In his free time, he enjoys ice climbing and mountaineering.

Andrew was the first provider in a long time to actually give me the time of day and listen to me and ask questions. Too often nowadays I’ll wait to see a provider and they’ll spend 5 minutes with me, not listen to me, and leave me with more questions than answers. It was very refreshing to actually feel listened to. As for everyone else the medical assistant that helped me was very kind. The nurse who gave me my vaccine seemed very out of it and mumbled through all of her sentences/ left me to finish her sentences for her which made me feel a bit nervous before she gave me my vaccine but it ended up being okay.
