Dr. Andrew Morgenstern currently serves as an Optometrist at Washington Eye Physicians and Surgeons. Dr Morgenstern is a graduate of Boston University and Nova Southeastern College of Optometry. He completed his training at the world-renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute / Jackson Memorial Hospital at the University of Miami, School of Medicine. He has been an Optometric leader in refractive surgery for the past eleven years. In that time he has seen over 50,000 refractive surgery patients and worked with over 150 surgeons.
As a faculty member of The Washington Hospital Center / Georgetown University School of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology and The University of Virginia School of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology, Dr. Morgenstern supervised the Medical Resident Refractive Surgery Programs. He is also an Adjunct Professor at Southern California College of Optometry; Dr Morgenstern supervises a 4th year clinical rotation.
At present he is a medical consultant to refractive surgery laser manufacturers, a refractive surgery ARBO/COPE continuing education reviewer, the membership director and board member of The Optometric Council on Refractive Technology (OCRT), a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA), Maryland Optometric Association (MOA) and a candidate for fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry (AAO). His articles have been featured in many medical journals and print media. Dr. Morgenstern lectures extensively nationally and internationally on refractive surgery, refractive technology and pharmaceuticals.
