About Dr. Anish Shah
Dr. Shah started his education in 2006 at Columbia University in New York City. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry and Economics. He then went on to pursue his medical school training at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and completed his general surgery residency at Stony Brook Medicine, where he developed a profound interest in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery.
After residency, Dr. Shah moved to North Carolina for his next opportunity. He trained as a fellow at the East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine. During his fellowship, he gained well-rounded experience in minimally invasive surgery, including a broad range of primary and revisional bariatric procedures. Dr. Shah is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery. Additionally, he is an active member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.
Dr. Shah is excited to come back to the Long Island area and join the New York Bariatric Group. He looks forward to bringing a collaborative approach to help patients in their journey toward weight loss and better health.
