About Dr. Ansu Punnoose
AllCare Primary & Immediate Care is a primary care group focused on providing convenient access to high-quality services delivered by knowledgeable and compassionate teams with an emphasis on preventive wellness. During your appointment, we may refer you to a specialist for certain conditions related to dermatology, gynecology, urology, etc.
Dr. Ansu Punnoose is an observant and attentive family physician and primary care doctor. She currently works at AllCare in Ellicott City, MD. In addition to treating a long list of illnesses and injuries, she also offers various check-ups, tests, and consultations among her services.
Dr. Punnoose did her undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania and earned a degree in osteopathic medicine from Touro College and University System, New York. She has also completed a residency in family medicine at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center and is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
Dr. Punnoose is a member of Sigma Sigma Phi, the American Osteopathic Association, and the American Academy of Family Physicians. She has also written and published several noteworthy articles in leading journals. She is fluent in English, Hindi, Urdu, Spanish, and Malayalam.

She was very nice but I had some issues and won’t be returning:
-said that there was no way to know what caused 3 week long hives all over me so we won’t test for anything
-I personally found her god stickers all over her laptop unprofessional. I’d much prefer her having science stickers.
-said I smoke twice a week and she inferred that I was on the same track as my partner who died a year ago from fentanyl. Pot isn’t a gateway drug and that was insensitive.

The last visit was unpleasant. It has become very clear to me that she does not listen to me. She just repeats rote treatments which have never works for me. When I mentioned a treatment that I was doing, she called me crazy and that I was going to kill myself. My previous doctor was the one who suggested this treatment, and it has worked for me. I just wish she was more supportive of treatments that work for me.

She looked at one problem area but said she wasn't confident in what the issue was. She did not look at a second problem area but suggested a medication might work for both problems. I was a bit frustrated that at one point said that my diagnosis of another health issue (which she couldn't assist with) probably wasn't an issue (even though I was diagnosed 20 years ago). She was nice, friendly, set clear boundaries of what she would/wouldn't help with. She might be the right doctor for someone else (clear, typical presenting health issue). But she not right for me.
