Meet Anthonia, founder of Peculiar Wellness Center, a space born from a deep passion for integrative, patient-centered care. With over two decades of healthcare experience and Doctorally prepared (DNP) dual certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP-BC), Anthonia understands that healing begins with trust, compassion, and collaboration. Her journey into mental health and wellness care was inspired by witnessing how often patients’ emotional and physical needs were overlooked or treated separately. She founded Peculiar Wellness Center to bridge that gap, offering a place where mental, emotional, and physical health are nurtured together.

She spoke with me for less than 15 minutes and I didn’t feel like she was actually listening to my concerns. Was just immediately trying to put me on medication when I came in and openly said I wanted to explore figuring out the root cause of my hormone issues, not just slap on birth control to “fix” the issue. I had to ask MULTIPLE times if I could get my blood work done to check my levels.

Just what a woman would want when visiting the gyn. Melissa at check in was nice and efficient. Got me check in and back into a room very fast. Waiting area, exam room, and bathroom all clean and nicely decorated. Anthonia was very thorough in explaining what would be done and what steps I would need to take after the appointment. Very satisfied with the first visit and look forward to subsequent visits.

Booking an appointment for women’s wellness at a facility called “Peculiar” Wellness Center made me feel a bit skeptical at first, but I quickly learned “Peculiar” simply means unique and different with exceptional service. Anthonia provides both gynecological services as well as specializing in athletics, so we were able to talk about my weight, skincare, and even my mental health while I was there for my annual Pap smear. She showed care and concern, listened to all my questions and said she wanted to see me back in 4 weeks to assess the new anti-depressants she prescribed. I was very impressed and will definitely continue to see Anthonia for all my female wellness needs. Highly recommend!
