Anthony Nuara, M.D., Ph.D., FAAD is a Board-Certified Dermatologist and an Arizona native. He was born and raised in North Phoenix and was a member of the inaugural International Baccalaureate class at North Canyon High School.
He attended the University of Arizona, where he graduated with honors as the Outstanding Senior in Biochemistry, also earning bachelor’s degrees in Molecular and Cellular Biology as well as Chemistry. He earned his doctorate of philosophy in Molecular Microbiology and Immunology studying the interaction of viruses with the immune system, followed by his doctorate of medicine at St. Louis University.
His training continued with a medical and surgical internship at St John’s Mercy Medical Center, followed by his dermatology training at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, a top ranked dermatology program. There he received training in all aspects of advanced medical, surgical, cosmetic and pediatric dermatology.
He is a member of the Phoenix Dermatology Society, Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), and serves as an organizer for the Phoenix Dermatology Journal Club.
