What should a new client know about working with you?

Prescribing Policy: Our practice is committed to safe, evidence-based care. All treatment plans are determined by the provider in accordance with current clinical guidelines and best practices. We do not prescribe medication regimens that fall outside of standard, evidence-based recommendations or that may pose unnecessary risk to patients. Requests for specific medications or combinations that are not clinically appropriate will not be fulfilled. By scheduling an appointment, you acknowledge that all prescribing decisions are made at the provider’s discretion. Please note that refunds are not provided based on disagreement with clinical recommendations. Dr. Walko earned his Bachelor’s degree from Fordham University, an Associate degree from the International College of Health Sciences, his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Northeast College of Health Sciences, and a Master’s degree in Adult-Gerontology Nursing from William Paterson University. He later completed his Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) training at Purdue University, earning a post-master’s certificate. With years of diverse healthcare experience, Dr. Walko brings a comprehensive and integrative approach to patient care. He believes that the best outcomes are achieved by thoughtfully combining appropriate medication management with targeted dietary and lifestyle modifications. His practice is committed to identifying the root cause of concerns and partnering with patients to create meaningful, lasting solutions.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My typical process begins with a comprehensive initial evaluation. During this first visit, I take time to understand your full history—medical, psychiatric, lifestyle, stressors, sleep, nutrition, and any prior treatments. I want to understand not just your symptoms, but how they are affecting your daily life and overall functioning. From there, we develop a personalized treatment plan. This may include medication management when appropriate, along with recommendations for lifestyle modifications, nutritional support, therapy referrals, or other integrative strategies. I believe the best outcomes come from addressing root causes whenever possible rather than only treating surface symptoms. Follow-up visits are structured but collaborative. We monitor progress closely, review any side effects, assess symptom changes, and adjust the plan as needed. My goal is steady, sustainable improvement—not quick fixes. Throughout the process, I emphasize education and transparency. You will understand why certain recommendations are being made, what alternatives exist, and what to expect next. Treatment is a partnership, and I work with you to ensure the plan aligns with your goals and comfort level
