About Dr. Anthony Weiss

During my training as a physician at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, I became fascinated with the digestive system and the profound effect gastrointestinal disease can have on people’s lives. The ability to combine the technical expertise of challenging procedures with the opportunity to form long-term relationships with my patients managing complex chronic conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease is unique to this profession. I completed my residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Gastroenterology at Mount Sinai Hospital. I then spent the first eight years of my career on the full-time faculty at Mount Sinai, focusing on inflammatory bowel disease and improving colorectal cancer screening in underserved populations. In practice, I see individuals with a variety of complaints including peptic disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease, eosinophilic esophagitis, and irritable bowel syndrome. I am an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and have served as the Director of Regulatory Affairs/Quality Assurance for the Department of Medicine as well as Associate Program Director of the Division of Gastroenterology. I am especially proud to have been awarded Outstanding Preceptor to our GI Fellows and recognized as Humanitarian of the Year by the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of New York. I am an avid cyclist. My wife and I enjoy hiking and attending modern dance performances.
