This was an unusual experience. Usually they are pretty punctual and I am seen within fifteen minutes or so. This passed appointment, I waited for way more than an hour. Still, the best doctor I have seen since my move to Dallas in 2014.
I usually don't see Dr. Mech. I see one of his practitioners. They are very knowledgeable and do a good job of finding the BEST medication and vitamins for you. Not just A medication. Best one I've ever been to and I've been to many.
Dr. Mech is an amazing doctor, listens to you and explains things in further detail than other doctors typically do. The office staff/front desk employees could do better - their disorganized manner, along with less than average people skills, does not represent how much of an accomplished professional Dr. Mech is.
Doctor was great. I love his approach to treatment. Wait time was long but it may be worth it
I've been seeing Dr. Mech for over a year now and he's the best psychiatrist I've had so far. He listens to what you tell him and explains everything in depth so you know how the medicine you are taking is working or why it's not working. He also provides many extra services such as blood testing and DNA testing. It's best to see him and not one of the nurse practitioners if you can, he's very good and knowledgeable.
Great visit. Very thorough. Staff is great. Doctor is extremely knowledgeable and professional.
Sometimes a significant wait time depending on the day and time of your appointment, but it usually is a short wait. The medical assistants are good, but I wouldn't recommend seeing the nurse practitioners instead of the doctor. They will refill prescriptions but if you have lots of questions or want to change the medication you're on, it's best to see Dr. Mech. And also it's best to see him because he's amazing! He explains so much about your medication and takes the time to speak with you and listens to all questions and concerns you might have. I never mind when there are longer wait times occasionally because I know he takes the time with patients that he needs to.
Great doctor and staff!
I've only been to one other Psychiatrist, and Dr. Mech blew her out of the water. It wasn't even close. If you want a doctor that will actually communicate with you as to why he is recommending a treatment, this is your doctor. My other doctor felt like she was reading a list from WebMD. This guy has you do all sorts of really detailed things to pinpoint the best point of attack. Cannot recommend enough.
He explained everything thoroughly. His recommendations were in line with what I had hoped. I liked him and I think that he is the best doctor around to help me with my problem.
I found my experience with Dr. Mech's office very very bizarre. First off the new patient form you fill out is 30+ pages long. I appreciate their attempt at attention to detail, but the majority of the packet seemed completely irrelevant to my particular situation. As for my visit, I sought out Dr. Mech out of necessity as I recently moved and needed a new doctor. I have seen 3 different specialists in three different cities for the same diagnosis, and I have NEVER been asked to partake in a drug test to obtain my prescription. If this is the way Dr. Mech's office wants to do things, that's fine. I just think it is important prospective new patients are aware of this component of his treatment. Then there was the timeliness of my appointment. The waiting time before being called back was not bad, however the entire appointment lasted 2 hours. During the two hours Dr. Mech walk in to my room for less than 5 minutes, asked a few basic questions, and walked out.
Very personable and likable. Offered many different treatment offers. Listened to me like I was a real person and not some lunatic. Wonderfully professional! I will be returning because he is, in my opinion, the best around the Plano/Frisco ever. The staff was even outstanding. Very friendly, didn't treat me like a freak. Love this place.
Dr. Mech and staff are great. I'm very happy I switched over to him.
Extremely intelligent. Up with the latest Medical developments. Wholistic. Pleasant. Educational. Considerate. Same with staff. Very excited to go to a psychiatrist that treats you as a whole person willing to look at viable answers other than more perscription drugs.
They don't answer their phone, they don't call back. Good luck getting in contact with them.
Dr. Mech has a ton of energy and at times speak very fast. He was very concerned and attentive. He answered any questions I had and explained in detail. I have a good feeling about him and that I will start to feel better soon. The tech who showed me to the room was very sweet! She was patient and I appreciated that. The only problem I had was the older blonde woman who works in the front. She was very snappy and told me that I was holding the doctor up by taking so long to fill out the paperwork. The whole reason I was there was for difficulty focusing. I'm sorry I couldn't finish a 65 page form in 20 minutes lady.
My initial visit I was greeted with a book-worth of forms to fill out. I felt this was unusual but perhaps additional diagnostic tools were helpful. So I filled out the forms and waited for the doctor for a very long time, over an hour, despite the fact that i was the first appointment of the day. Because I had to go to work I only met with the doctor for two minutes which was apparently enough time to determine what prescription I needed. Despite all that, and the less-than-comfortable feeling I had about the practice, I made a follow-up appointment. This time I met with a psychiatric nurse practitioner, though I didn't find out her profession until the end of our visit when I asked her because she never introduced herself. I had not yet completed that labs the practice requires and she appeared flustered and challenged when discussing medication. She was not a pleasant person. I have since moved on to a new practitioner and when I mentioned who I previously saw was asked "how fast did you run?" Not fast enough.
Quick and to the point. I liked him. Efficient.
Awful! At first this office seemed like a god send. Then after they got all my $$ for thousands in lab work they literally stop caring or helping. I was out of my medication, went to dr appt same day. They prescribed my meds as usual but after waiting in waiting room for an hour after my appt w Doctor ended I went to window to ask for the paper prescription so I could leave. She snapped at me and said it isn't ready yet... Long story short.. I went home and it took 8 full days to get this prescription sent it. I was having "brain zaps", withdrawls, seizures, etc. kept having to leave voicemails, never got a call back... They genuinely don't care. This was the hardest part for me to understand. They are great at pretending they care in the beginning to get your $$... Then they quickly show you their true colors. Such a shame. Dr. Mech is great.... But his front office staff are literally chasing business away. I will not go back.
Dr. Mech is not only well qualified he is eons ahead of most practitioners. If you know of someone who has Attention Deficit Disorder whether the person is an adult or a child I highly recommend him.
The wait was unusually long - 45 min. We were the first patients for the day and I'm not sure understand why. I have to take off from work to see the Doctor and took the first appointment to avoid being gone from work unnecessarily. Dr. Mech is always late. I was going to the last appointment and that was 2 hours of my time. I wish the office would run on time.
