About Ashleigh Pinedo
Ashleigh N. Pinedo is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a master’s degree in nursing. She spent nine years as a registered nurse at Hoag Hospital in Orange County, where she learned to treat patients with the highest quality of care, safety, and compassion.
Ashleigh Pinedo joined Dr. Yu’s practice in 2020 to assist him with surgery and offer general gynecological services. She meets with patients for annual exams, diagnoses gynecological concerns, and recommends treatment options. Ashleigh has training and experience assisting with both invasive and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery procedures. She chose to join Dr. Yu’s practice because she agrees with his philosophy of performing surgery only when necessary. Like Dr. Yu, Ashleigh prioritizes less invasive options where possible.
Throughout her nine years of experience as a registered nurse in a hospital setting, Ashleigh learned what hospital outpatient care tends to miss. Her goal is to prevent issues and keep her patients healthy enough that they never need to visit her former hospital. Her experience in hospital bedside care helped her become an empathetic and understanding medical provider. It also provided her with a depth of knowledge, training, and expertise on gynecological issues that most general physicians and nurse practitioners do not have. Ashleigh’s favorite part of the job is developing long-term relationships with her patients. She enjoys seeing patients year after year and creating a comfortable environment for them to discuss their concerns. It is important to her that women feel safe coming to her about any issue, big or small. No concern is too small or peculiar for her to address and treat with care and empathy.
Ashleigh enjoys keeping fit. She attends Pilate’s classes regularly and stays active. She also enjoys classic literature and usually has at least one book waiting to be read.

Ashleigh Pinedo was very understanding and a great listener. I am new to the OC area and needed to setup a GYN care specifically for my perimenopausal symtoms and just figuring out how to care for myself. She listened and was very assuring in helping me in getting all the help I needed. She made me feel like we will get through my changes together and that I am not alone. Ashleigh was great—I wasn’t exactly looking forward to this appointment (anyone who’s gotten a Pap smear gets it), but she really made the whole experience as painless as possible, literally and figuratively. She’s friendly, professional, communicates clearly, provides opportunities to ask questions, and makes sure you’re comfortable the whole time.
