About Dr. Ashley Burlage
Dr. Ashley Burlage is a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in the hand and upper extremity (shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand). Dr. Burlage treats patients both surgically and non-surgically. Her practice focuses on adult and pediatric hand surgery, upper extremity trauma and disorders of the shoulder, elbow and wrist. She has expertise in treating conditions such as: trigger finger, tendonitis, basal joint arthritis, carpal tunnel, cubital tunnel, and upper extremity fractures. Dr. Burlage also treats conditions of the shoulder and routinely performs shoulder replacements and arthroscopic rotator cuff surgeries.
Dr. Burlage received her Bachelor of Science degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Tulane University. She continued her education at Tulane, earning her medical degree at Tulane University School of Medicine. She graduated at the top of her class and was inducted to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Following medical school, Dr. Burlage completed a 5-year residency in orthopaedic surgery at North Shore University Long Island Jewish Medical Center, where she was named chief resident. During her residency, she received the Alumni Day Best Residency Paper Award three consecutive years. Following residency, Dr. Burlage completed a hand surgery fellowship at NYU Langone Hospital for Joint Diseases.
Dr. Burlage is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. Dr. Burlage has been published in the Journal of Hand Surgery and the Journal of Translational Medicine, among others. She is also a Castle Connolly Top Doctor.
As a physician, her goal is to return her patients to function. Her philosophy is to exhaust conservative measures before turning to surgery.

Office is a little bit of a hike for me coming from Ridge, Long Island (exit 68 on the LIE) But the parking was good, reception was polite and prompt and the reception area was neat and tasteful.
The PA Jordan was polite and friendly and let me know what would be happening next.
Dr Bulgarde was pleasant and listened to my problems. X-Rays were taken and I was returned to the exam room. Dr Bulgarde explained my condition and treatments were discussed. All in all I was very happy with all concepts of my experience.

Dr. Ashley Burlage is wonderful. a breath of fresh air when it comes to doctors. She is extremely pleasant and listens attentively to your situation. She discusses a solution, and you leave knowing the course of treatment and the reason why, and alternatives, as well as next steps. You never feel rushed. I'll go to no other as long as she is around. The receptionists are pleasant as well, and the office is clean with lots of parking.
