Getting to know Ashley Espinoza
Many of my patients are individuals struggling with some form of undesirable symptoms related to their mental health and come to see me to explore whether medication might help. Taking this step can feel vulnerable and intimidating. The work I do stems from an innate passion to empower individuals to take control of their quality of life by giving attention to their mental health. I partner with my patients to discover and create a mental health plan that feels comfortable, doable, and sustainable.
I specialize in forming relationships with individuals who are: 1) already taking medication for a current mental health diagnosis; 2) experiencing mental health symptoms and would like to see if medication may be beneficial; and 3) already taking medication but find their treatment is not working as they would like.
I hold a Master's degree in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from Ohio University, and I earned my Bachelor's degrees from Cleveland State University and the University of Florida.

My approach is warm, open-minded, and always respectful of your privacy. I pride myself on creating a non-judgmental safe space where you can feel free to share any detail you wish during our session together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?
Our initial appointment involves me getting to know you, your current concerns, past experiences and anticipated goals in working with me. I will make an assessment based on this information, determine a diagnosis, create a plan with options for interventions, and arrange an appropriate follow up time for us to meet again. Each time we meet after the initial session will be a process of evaluating what is working well and what may need to be adjusted, a "check in" of how you are doing overall.
Talk therapy is always intertwined in my sessions. It is important that I know the headspace you are in at each point in time of our meetings.

Best experience I’ve ever had with a provider! You can tell that she loves her job and has genuine empathy and care for her patients and finding the best solution to fit their needs! She made me feel so comfortable and heard which is so so important in the health industry where you are so vulnerable to your provider. Having a bad experience with a health provider, mental health especially, can throw my motivation off the loop on finding the right one. So if you’re going through the struggle of finding a provider, whether from bad experiences or NO experience, I highly recommend Ashley! She is great. :)

I have no complaints with this Dr. you can tell she cares so much for her clients. I made this appt from one day to the next. The only negative thing I can say and it isn’t with her personally it’s with the billing department is this .. Zocdoc says they take my insurance and the Dr. did confirm she takes Oscar. However, after the appt. I received a message from the billing company charging me full price for the service. I believe she deserves every penny for her service but I scheduled an appt with the understanding that they took my insurance. Billing SHOULD contact the patient and advise whether or not the insurance is going to cover before seeing the Dr. and the patient can make the decision whether they want to continue with the appt or not. Nor do I see a claim being put in through my insurance portal.

Ashley was incredibly patient, kind, and attentive. I have worked with psychiatrists for most of my life and rarely had a provider who genuinely cared and wanted to be thorough enough to get to know my case to better understand medication management. I did not wait at all for the appointment and felt heard in a way I never did before with a psych practitioner. Highly recommend 10/10.

I cannot recommend Ashley enough!!! I was so nervous about making n appointment and Ashley made me so comfortable! She was kind and really listened to me and I was able to make my appointment that day!
I never felt rushed or dismissed which is something I was really worried about because some of my friends have had terrible experiences with other providers.
I was able to talk about my postpartum emotions with someone who never made me feel bad and never dismissed my feelings/concerns and it made such a huge difference for me.
