Dr. David Gorman is an Ophthalmologist with over 40 years of extensive experience in Comprehensive Ophthalmology. He has recently moved from New York City to join us in South Florida as our new General Ophthalmologist.
Dr. David Gorman graduated from New York University Medical School and completed residencies in Medicine, then Ophthalmology at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. He completed two fellowships in Corneal Disease and Transplantation surgery at the Cornea-Plastic Unit in East Grinstead, England. In addition, Dr. Gorman completed an additional fellowship in Cataract Surgery with Dr. Manus Kraff in Chicago, Illinois.
Dr. Gorman is a Board-Certified Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and he is also an Overseas Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine. His professional affiliations include formerly the New York County and State Medical Societies. He is a former Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Columbia University, an attending at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center (New York Cornell Medical System)
Dr. Gorman enjoys giving back to the community as a member of VOSH-NY and Surgical Eye Expeditions. He has donated his time to participate in numerous cataract surgical missions to Peru, Mexico, and the Philippines. Some of his accomplishments, outside of practicing medicine, include writing numerous articles and chapters in various peer reviewed publications, and conducting seminars to professional audiences.
Personally, Dr. Gorman enjoys spending quality time with his family. He is married to Sandy Gorman, an artist whose work graces his Fifth Ave office. He also has two daughters - Deborah, who is a chef in Los Angeles, and Candice who is an Artist and Massage Therapist.
