About Dr. Marc Winnick

Dr. Marc Winnick is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of corneal and external eye diseases. He performs anterior segment surgery (including penetrating keratoplasty and DSAEK) and cataract surgery using presbyopia-correcting lenses including Crystalens and ReSTOR. Dr. Winnick joined Delray Eye Associates in 2002. He is currently an Affiliate Clinical Assistant Professor in the Charles E. Schmidt College of Biomedical Science at Florida Atlantic University and a Voluntary Instructor of Ophthalmology at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute of the University of Miami. Dr. Winnick was born and raised on Long Island, New York. He received a B.S with distinction from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and earned his M.D. from Wayne State University in Detroit, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Winnick completed his internship at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York City and remained in New York to complete his ophthalmology residency at the Edward S. Harkness Eye Institute of Columbia University. He went on to complete a Fellowship in Cornea, External Disease, and Laser Refractive Surgery at the Wilmer Ophthalmological Institute of the Johns Hopkins Hospital under Dr. Walter J. Stark. Dr. Winnick is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He has authored many scientific research articles and book chapters and enjoys lecturing on the medical management of infectious, neoplastic and inflammatory diseases of the ocular surface and ocular surgery, including cataract extraction, corneal transplantation and laser refractive surgery.
