About Dr. Benjamin Berenfeld
Benjamin Berenfeld, MD, specializes in upper extremity surgery and is one of the few specialists in Westchester and the Bronx performing endoscopic carpal and cubital tunnel releases and wrist arthroscopy. His clinical practice also encompasses a wide variety of nonoperative treatments, including collagenase injections for Dupuytren?s disease and the use of ultrasound guidance for joint injections with particular expertise in minimally invasive management of various disorders of the hand, wrist and elbow. At our Albert Einstein College of Medicine, he serves as an Assistant Professor.
After obtaining his medical degree from our Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and completing his residency in orthopedic surgery at Montefiore, Dr. Berenfeld pursued a hand and upper extremity fellowship at SUNY Upstate Medical University. His fellowship included training at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for congenital disorders of the hand and upper extremity.
His training included management of all upper extremity traumas in adults and children, as well as microvascular reconstruction of upper and lower extremity injuries. This included industrial trauma to the hand, replantation of severed digits, repair of nerves and tendons, and treatment of other complex soft tissue and bone disorders. Dr. Berenfeld also received significant training in shoulder and elbow replacement for arthritic and traumatic conditions of the upper limb joints.
Dr. Berenfeld is a recipient of numerous awards including Patients? Choice Award for 2010-2014 and Most Compassionate Physician Award for 2010-2014, based on the patients? reviews. He was also named Top 10 Hand Surgeon Specialists in New Jersey in 2014 and America?s Top Orthopedists in 2012. He is a native Russian speaker.

Did not pay attention to my initial cause, did an mri 5 years ago, have multiple tears, told him the pain I'm in from 5he top of my shoulder to my hand , radiating pain, my mris show it 5 years ago, I'm a retired laborer of 33, years , lol, he says this is probably tennis elbow, crazy, surely does not know the fi3ld I was in and the constant pain at night I go through, was recommended to another specialist, let's see how this works, I was not satisfied with his answer at all, l it was like he knows my pain crazy, would not recommended him to anyone

Zoc doc had the wrong address for his the address is 3400 Bainbridge Ave in the Bronx. The stuff there was really really nice BUT THE DOCTOR….never again. I showed up with pain in my hand and my hand was swollen and the doctor seen how swollen it was. His initial reaction to my hand was, “Oh your hand hurts what do you want me to do just don’t injure it.” Then he starts gathering his papers to leave. I had to ask many question to see what I can do for my swollen hand (such as exercises to relieve the pain and minimize the swelling). I also had to request an X-Ray for my hand. Then kept asking did I want pain killers for my hand (I had to tell him several times I didn’t want any pills) and he was very reluctant to help. I will never go to him ever again.

A state of the art facility. Everything I needed was there on one floor if the building. One suite was where I saw the doctor, the suite next Store was where I had my X-ray taken, and the suite next door to that was where I was fitted for and received my brace for my wrist. I highly recommend this doctor and practice.
