Dr. Safai received his medical degree from Tehran University School of Medicine, Tehran, Iran. He was trained in internal medicine and dermatology at NYU Medical School, and completed a fellowship in immunology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC). Dr. Safai's work in immunology earned him a degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences (D.Sc.) from the University of Gutenberg, Sweden. He continued his career at MSKCC where he established a dermatology program to include research, education and patient care. During his tenure, he developed programs for the management of various skin cancers, lymphoma of the skin and Kaposi's Sarcoma.

Very rushed visit. I was given 2 prescriptions that were not been sent to the pharmacy a few hours later. I had to call them so they sent 1, so I had to call again. They re-sent the other after. They only had to do one simple job, not recommended.

Very professional, warm and kind, old school style customer service, great manners and Marina at the front desk was fantastic I have been to so many doctors lately and none were busy- but it was such bad service in every respect. Today Dr. Safai & Marina were swamped at one point with over 5 patients waiting but it was seamless and easy. I am so happy to see real customer service and patient care actually exists. Thank you Dr.!

Dr. Safai is wonderful. Very professional, knowledgeable, has great approach and you feel like you know him for many years. He knows what should be done instantly, after just a glance at the area of concern.

I was forced to wait a long time after my scheduled appointment time to be seen by the doctor both times. The front desk staff pressured me to select an earlier time for my follow up visit so they “wouldn’t have to stay at the office as late,” forcing me to take time off of work to make the earlier appointment time, but then I was held in the waiting room well past the time I was originally asking to be seen.
In my initial visit, I maybe spoke with Dr. Sifai for a maximum of ten minutes, and five minutes during my follow up. The doctor didn’t even look at my skin issue during the follow up visit. The infection the doctor claimed he was “treating” returned a month later even worse than it was the first time. I called Dr. Sifai’s office and was told he was closed due to the pandemic (understandable), so I left a message and was told that someone would follow up with me. I never heard back about my medical issue (and still haven’t!), but two weeks later Dr. Sifai contacted me asking that I pay charges that were never communicated to me before or during the visit. It’s disappointing to me that Dr. Sifai clearly prioritizes profits over patients.

Dr. Safai is one of the best dermatologists in the country and can spot an aktonic keratosis a mile away! He does a thorough exam and takes steps to proactively address any lesions that need to be zapped (with liquid nitrogen) and biopsy suspicious looking lesions. Well done!

This Doctor was extremely judgmental during the time of my visit. He barely assessed the condition my daughter had and continuously made discriminatory remarks and assumptions about us. This doctor made us feel extremely uncomfortable and we will never return back.

Sr. safari is great but zocdoc scheduled my son for an appointment 1.5 hours before he starts seeing patients. His staff was apologetic and accommodating, said it was a known issue that had been reported but not corrected....it was very frustrating and a complete waste of my time! I had to arrange for a babysitter because I was so late getting home.

I felt privileged to have someone with Dr. Bijan Safai's experience and superlative educational background undertaking the evaluation and treatment of my sun-damaged skin. On top of his impressive credentials, he stays on the cutting edge (no pun intended) by teaching a class of nine students in Dermatology at NY Medical School. He did a thorough assessment of my skin, head to toe, found a few areas of concern, two of which he zapped with a liquid nitrogen mix, and one he biopsied for further analysis by the pathology lab. Throughout, Dr. Safai was calm, cool and collected - - and reassuring. Dr. Safai's staff are also very pleasant and professional and oriented towards making the administrative aspects of the visit very efficient and hassle-free.

I felt Dr Safai to be very good. He is an old school dermatologist, not the one that is immediately trying to convince you to do cosmetic surgery, believe me I've been to ones like that. I have sun damaged skin and need a professional to make sure I don't have any problem areas. He was willing to remove spots if I wanted but I believe if its not broken don't fix it.

If you want a doctor who genuinely cares about your skin concerns, then go see Dr. Safai. He is determined to treat my skin and even assured me that he will fix my skin problems
- will fix it right away - and that I will have better skin soon. I've had these issues on my face for several years and I've been feeling bad for myself for several years also. Dr. Safai is compassionate and he made me feel that there is hope.He prescribed a couple medications and I will be seeing him again after two weeks to check if the prescription is working for me. So we'll see!

I chose Dr. Safai based on the other posts and I'm very happy I did. He's kind hearted and attentive to the patients. My visit was held back becuase he had an emergency ealier in the day which delayed everything a bit, but even so it was one of the best visits I've had with a Doctor for the first time. You can tell he cares about people!

Dr. Safai is everything you can ask for in a medical professional. He introduced himself by name and with a smile (this is very important to me and becoming increasingly rare!), gave me a chance to express my concerns, addressed all of my questions, explained things to me in a manner that was easy to understand, and was very kind and gentle throughout. A wonderful doctor! Office staff were all very kind and helpful as well.
