About Dr. Brent Pickrell
Brent Pickrell, MD, is a fellowship-trained hand surgeon at Los Angeles Orthopedic Surgery Specialists. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin, earning a degree in finance from the McCombs School of Business. He then matriculated to Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, on a 4-year full-tuition scholarship and graduated with honors. Dr. Pickrell completed his 6-year integrated plastic surgery residency at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Pickrell subsequently completed an orthopedic hand fellowship at Harvard Medical School, focusing on the complex reconstruction of the hand, wrist, and forearm. Dr. Pickrell received numerous accolades during his surgical training, including the Harvard Plastic Surgery Resident Teacher of the Year Award. He was a 4-time recipient of the Harvard Academic Achievement Award for earning the highest national in-service exam score. He has over 30 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and remains involved in select research endeavors. Dr. Pickrell enjoys treating all aspects of hand and upper extremity pathology, including injuries and disorders of the bones, tendons, ligaments, vessels, nerves, and soft tissues. At LAOSS, he uniquely offers office-based surgery for common hand ailments, including trigger finger and carpal tunnel syndrome. Dr. Pickrell prioritizes patient education and aims to treat all of his patients as if they were his own family members. Dr. Pickrell enjoys spending time with his wife and two children in his spare time. He is also an avid golfer. Dr. Pickrell can see patients in East LA, Santa Fe Springs, Wilshire, and Tarzana.

Pleasantly surprised by ease of the experience with this new doctor, especially a specialist office. I was able to book an appt within days of my initial search. The staff was very friendly and clear in their communications. I was called back before I even finished filling out the paperwork. Dr Prickell was attentive and listened to my concerns then explained thoroughly what my treatment options were.
Overall I’m very happy I choose this Orthopedic office.

Staff is great. I got there 10 min early and I was seen right away. Danny the x-ray guy is super friendly and very qualified for his job. He seems like the kind of guy you want to hang out with and to also take care of you because he takes into consideration all the little details you tell him. Dr. Brent was also great. He took time to listen and ask questions. He also was super friendly and seemed to be the type that’d be a good friend. I could tell by his energy and knowledge that he knows what he’s talking about and I felt much better about my wrist injury when I left. 10/10 recommended.

It is in a busy building but self parking is available and attached to the building. Office took me in right away (there are many exam rooms in the office). Doctor took time, did not rush me and listened.

The wait was not long and Dr. Pickrell was able to thoroughly diagnose and explain the situation as well as answering any questions I had all without rushing me. Great experience and I would recommend.
My only feedback is that his office change his name plaque in the lobby not to just say "Plastic Surgeon" and maybe also add "Orthopedic Doctor" etc. It was confusing when I got there whether he was the specialist I should have scheduled.

The office made filling out paperwork very easy and the staff was very friendly. Despite the number of patients I saw walking through the door, I didn't wait more than five minutes after, completing my paperwork to be taken back to a room and getting vitals taken. ? Not more than five minutes after that, I was getting my x-rays taken. ?About 10 to 15 minutes after that, the doctor saw me and went over the results?. ? I was genuinely shocked, but extremely pleased at how quickly things went. No excessive weight times. ? Every single person was extremely friendly, and had good bedside manner. ?
