About Dr. Bright Chen
Dr. Bright Chen’s practice interests include musculoskeletal disorders, reconstructive surgery, and sports medicine. His practice philosophy is that medicine is simply allowing the body to heal itself and promoting methods that support this process. Additionally, some conditions may not require surgery, so conservative options are explored first.
Dr. Chen earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Samuel Merritt University, California School of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his residency in Podiatric Medicine & Surgery with a focus on Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery at West Houston Medical Center. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
During podiatric medical school, he completed a homeless outreach community service and research project. For his service, he received the prestigious Albert Schweitzer Fellowship award. He has published two articles on foot care and public health in the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association.
A former competitive-level gymnast, Dr. Chen understands the needs and concerns of both pediatric and adult athletes.

A very pleasant experience. Dr. Chen is quiet, competent, caring, and clearly explains the cause(s), treatment procedure(s), and aftercare. I appreciated that he had read my background, and really listened to my comments and questions. The office was clean, and the staff were welcoming and efficient. I felt well taken care of.
