Dr. Caitlin Farmer attended Duke University to obtain her biomedical engineering undergraduate
degree. Her medical degree was earned at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio,
where she remained for her internal medicine internship. Dr. Farmer was a recipient of the Eric Leung
Scholarship and became a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Farmer’s dermatology
residency was completed in Detroit at the Henry Ford Hospital.
Dr. Farmer’s background in engineering led her to dermatology because they both involve analytical
thinking, attention to detail, hands-on problem solving and maintaining familiarity with emerging
technologies. She enjoys drawing on her engineering background and her advanced medical training to
create patient-centered, comprehensive treatment plans with patients and their families. Maintaining
continuity of care with her patients allows her to see the impact of treatment plans, whether simple or
complex, on their lives.
Dr. Farmer is most interested in the early detection and management of skin cancers, acne and rosacea,
psoriasis and combatting photoaging.
In her spare time, Dr. Farmer enjoys watching movies and college sports, exploring new restaurants and
traveling with her husband.

I was amazed at how quick the check-in process was. I sat down after providing my information, and was immediately called back to the examining room. The nurse asked a few questions, and said that the doc would be in shortly. I was about to get my phone out to check emails, thinking it would be awhile (as it usually is, in a doctor's office). Dr. Farmer was in promptly. She was very nice, thorough and I would highly recommend her! In fact, I already recommended her to a friend, the moment that I got in my car, just 30 minutes after I arrived! A plus to this great Dermatologist!
