Hi!! My name is Camille, and I am a licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in Texas. I received my Master's from Walden University and have over 10 years of patient care/mental health hospital experience; I help and serve a diverse group of clients ranging from young adults to older/geriatric patients to get on the right track towards bettering their mental wellness.
My approach
The theoretical approach I commonly use is supportive. Supportive therapy emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and active listening. This fosters a therapeutic alliance, empowering patients to explore their feelings and experiences in a safe environment, ultimately promoting self-growth, self-acceptance, and mental well-being.
My focus
The types of patients I care for range from different ages and ethnic groups. The top conditions I have experience with are Depression, Generalized Anxiety, Mood Disorders, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
My communication style

This includes thorough assessments, personalized treatment plans, medication management, and supportive therapy sessions if needed. Emphasis is placed on open communication, patient education, and collaborative decision-making within a safe and compassionate setting.
My journey to mental healthcare
I was drawn to this field by a deep commitment to addressing mental health disparities in marginalized communities and also the lack of knowledge/resources available for anybody here in the United States. Witnessing the impact of mental illness in the community inspired me to provide culturally sensitive, compassionate care. What drives me is the desire to empower others, challenge stigmas, and advocate for mental health equity. My personal experiences of observing the lack of representation in mental health care can fuel my passion.
