Dr. Carly Seidman was very thourough and took her time with me to discuss my concerns. My eye exam was also thourough and provided clear directions of when to see her next.
The waiting room was a bit crowded and the wait was approx an hour for me, and possibly longer for others on a weekend.

Dr. Carly Seidman is a board certified ophthalmologist who is fellowship trained in diseases of the retina. Her practice is unique in that she is part of a father-daughter team who take pride in offering a comprehensive, personalized approach to eye care. Dr. Carly Seidman and her father, Dr. Mitchell S. Seidman (who has been in practice nearly 40 years) give patients their undivided attention. They practice in two Brooklyn locations--Brighton Beach and Park Slope--and offer late as well as weekend appointments.
Dr. Seidman graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Brown University with a major in neuroscience and from Brown Medical School where she received awards for her work in the ophthalmology department. She completed her residency training at New York University and the Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital. Her additional year of fellowship training in medical retina was at Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Seidman is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and has published many scholarly articles.
Dr. Seidman’s expertise is in the treatment of diseases of the retina and vitreous, including diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, floaters, and retinal vascular occlusions. The office is equipped with the latest in retinal imaging technology, including optical coherence tomography and fluorescein angiography. Dr. Seidman performs intravitreal injections. She is also a skilled cataract surgeon and offers premium lenses and minimally invasive glaucoma procedures. The practice also includes the prescribing of glasses, as well as the treatment of glaucoma and many ophthalmic inflammations and infections.

I see an optometrist for my vision issues which does not require an MD. I didn’t have the need to see one until recently and I obsoletely resented the fact that my optometrist couldn’t recommend one and offered to treat it himself. It never seizes to amaze me how some doctors treat us as commodity and forget the oath they have taken.
I have not seen an Ophthalmologists for many years and had no recommendations of friends to go by. Therefore I had no choice but to use Zocdoc which was extremely helpful. I chose Dr. Carly Seidman because she was young working out of a family practice. I could have chosen her father and I know many people would have done just that. The old school doctors with years of experience is usually the way to go.
However, I’m different! I wanted a young and updated professional and didn’t want or need old shaky hands next to my eyes especially for a procedure involving needles. I was very nervous but she put me right at ease and I trusted my eyes to her which any sane person knows means a lot . She was sure and calm, thorough and professional and the examination and procedure were over shortly.
I recommend her very highly!

Dr. Seidman was definitely helpful and well educated. She easily navigated through the exam and treated the reason for my visit with ease. She was gentle and patient. She even quickly updated the prescription on my lenses! My only angst is the wait time. My appointment was for 12:45 and I was not seen until 1:45. I could’ve just went on a busy day, as I don’t remember other reviews saying much about the wait time, but I did find the wait was a bit excessive for a 15 minute visit.

I'm so impressed. Not only was Dr. Seidman professional, reassuring, and knowledgable, but I have a rare form of muscular dystrophy that can affect the eyes. She knew about it, and took the extra step to do additional research after she dilated my eyes. I also have a family history of glaucoma, and she was super quick to tell me that my eye pressure was normal. She listened to my concerns, and gets five stars in my book, and I'm very happy to have found her.
The office itself runs smoothly, with both check in and billing handled in a professional manner, and my only (minor) complaint is that the waiting area is very small, and there are no coat hooks or coat rack; sitting with a down jack on my lap while waiting for my pupils to dilate was less than ideal, it's it would be a very easy fix.
I'm happy to have Dr. Seidman as my regular eye care practitioner.
