Great clean office it’s close by the R train station. The front desk girls were very nice and friendly. I made an appt through Zocdoc on the same day and I didn’t have to wait long until I was called in. Dr. Dessner was very informative and professional. I would definitely come back again!
Excellent experience with Dr. Dressner. Wait time was less than 15 minutes. All staff members were kind and professional. He explained everything to me in detail and prescribed what I needed. Would recommend & return!
I thought it was a very average visit and what you should expect from an eye exam. I was just disappointed in the wait time. I arrived on time and waited 30+ minutes to be seen. It would have been nice if they were upfront about a delay in time when I arrived. They were nice and I thought I had a thorough eye exam.
I found this doctor based on his proximity to my house and the fact that I needed the appointment ASAP (eye infection), and he was available. The wait in the waiting room was about 20-25 minutes before I was taken to the office and examined by the assistant. After she was done, the doctor came pretty much right away. He had good manners, and his suggested treatment was in line with my expectations, so - I was very happy.
Dr. Dessner thoroughly explained what was going on with my vision. He took the time to ask what issues I was having.
The visit was great, I would given 5 stars but I arrived on time and was not called for 45 minutes past my scheduled appointment.
Dr. Dessner is highly knowledgeable and professional. He not only addressed my eye condition, but offered very helpful guidance on a related medical issue I was experiencing - guidance which another specialist completely failed to provide, and which proved critical to my recovery. I enthusiastically recommend Dr. Dessner.
Thorough and efficient.
Being a physician myself I will say Dr Dessner is thorough and has a great bedside manner and thankfully still spoke to me like a patient rather than a colleague that should know about the eyes. Happy he is in the neighborhood!
Waited for 30+ minutes past my appt time to be seen. Then waited another 20+ minutes between the first review of my eyes and the second after the drops kicked in. Normally my eye doc appts take 30 minutes total... not an hour and 20 minutes. I was super late getting to work and will not be returning as the experience was sub-par to average.

Very thorough and knowledgeable
Office staff was nice enough but unprofessional - I've been to this office before but they had "misplaced" my chart so I had to give all new information again. I wasn't thrilled that I had to wait 30 mins for a routine appointment that only lasted 15 minutes. Dr. Dessner himself is pleasant but his staff needs to professionalize and run the office in a more organized manner.
Thorough, friendly, fast
The office was very nice and clean. The Receptionist was extremely helpful. All the staff I encountered greeted me with a smile. The visit itself with Dr.Dessner was great.
Definitely will be returning. The doctor was thorough in answering my many questions, and the team was kind about my squeamishness about the eye exam. The wait was long (just over an hour) but everyone was apologetic about this, which I appreciated. Thanks!

The office visit was terrific. It was super clean and welcoming environment. Dr. Dessner gave me several options to treat my condition. He was actually pretty funny too.
I really like this location and Dr Dessner is fine. The wait for your appointment is really really long. I waited a little over an hour. I hate to even write this but he needs to be more aware of his appearance. If I noticed it others for sure do too! When he finally came out of the back area to the reception, I watched him pick his nose. When I went back to him for my appointment, I wondered how long it had been since he showered or washed his hair. It was very apparent. All I was thinking was I hope he washes or puts anti bac on his hands in front of me before he touches me or my eye. His hygiene was all I could focus on from the rest of my appt.

I was recommended to see Dr. Dessner and traveled to Brooklyn from Manhattan to do so. His office is easy to get to and is on the same block where the subway lets out. I waited less than five mins even though there were several other patients around during my visit. The doctor was very warm in his manner and knew most patients by name as they walked in. He was very thorough in his explanations of changes in my glasses and contacts prescription, and his assistant helped me a lot in selecting new glasses frames in his optical shop.
Answered my questions thoroughly - it was a very educational visit.

This was my first visit to this practice. From the receptionist to seeing Dr. Dessner my experience was above par. Dr. Dessner was very informative and on point with the effects that I was experiencing based on the condition that he observed as part of my eye exam. Based on this experience I would recommend his services.

Dr. Dessner is very nice good manner. However, I feel like the service I got was incomplete somehow. My issue was never resolved and the medications that were prescribed didn't do anything

I was pleased with my visit to Dr. Dessner. He knew my previous eye doctor. He gave me a thorough exam and wrote out a new prescription for reading glasses.
Dr. Dessner provided me with how to cure my stye and how to prevent another one in the future with a note.
Appointment was fine. The office is in the back of an optician and the waiting area was depressing. I didn't feel personal care or attention. He went out to pay for his breakfast order in the middle of the appointment which I thought was weird. I also got a bill (even though my insurance covered the visit) post the visit for something I was never really able to figure out, but it seemed easier paying the fee (via VENMO, also odd). I will not be coming back.
This is not my thing, but I have not experienced such a polite and efficient office, of any kind, in a very long time. There's always one glitch. The environment is inviting, the staff very pleasant, mannerly, and accommodating and the medical service excellent. A doctor who listens. Kudos to all!

I did not like my appointment witn Dr Dessner. He’s extremely pretentious and was crewing gum while treating me. He seems to be a good doctor but I didn’t like his attitude.

No bad comment about the Doctor but the housekeeping person came in during my interview with the assistant. Being that this conversation is supposed to be confidential, I was surprised the assistant did not ask the cleaning person to leave. This cleaning person too was pretty oblivious about doctor office conduct.

It’s not easy to find a pediatric ophthalmologist , after a long drive then finally got there , the Dr wasn’t just take a look then say everything is ok then send u home , nope , he checked my baby son patiently and used his profession to diagnose him ,
He seemed knowledgeable and explained things well. The other people in the office the day I was there were helpful as well. The people who handle billing were a little disorganized.
The experience was great, everyone who attended to me helped ease off all my apprehension. I was refered to another Doc who was not available for another week, went online and gor Dr. Dessner based on reviews and honestly am moee than glad I chose him. He took his time to explain every bit of the process and implications. Thank you.
