Dr. Doom and all the staff in this office are great! I see Joy for my regular appointments and Dr. Doom performed my IUD insertion recently- they are both amazing! I was extremely nervous about the IUD appointment but Dr. Doom calmed me down and even offered to call someone in to hold my hand if I needed it. She also took the time to talk me through all of my options so I could choose the best device for me. As we went through the process, she explained each step to me and was very honest about what I should expect. All the staff I have met in this office have been very down to earth and easy to talk to! Highly recommend!

Dr. Carmen was awesome. She made me feel comfortable and taken care of. She explained everything thoroughly and answered all of my questions. I highly recommend her.

More about Dr. Carmen Doom, MD
Dr. Doom grew up in Minnesota and attended Macalester College. After receiving her BA in Biology in 1998, she moved to San Diego to pursue research (and to warm up on the beaches). She moved up the West coast to earn her medical degree and a Ph.D. in immunology at Oregon Health and Science University. She then completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Duke University.
Dr. Doom is a scientist at heart, but prefers direct clinical care over the research laboratory. She enjoys all aspects of women’s health care, with special expertise in adolescent gynecology, high risk obstetrics, autoimmune disorders, and contraceptive counseling.
Her favorite part of medicine is getting to know patients and their families, and she takes special care to identify all facets of a patient’s medical concern. She strives to provide each patient with a thorough understanding of her condition and a clear treatment plan.
When not at work, Dr. Doom enjoys traveling, practicing her Spanish, solving crossword puzzles, watching modern dance, and spending time with her dog.

Dr. Doom is always professional and addresses all my concerns & questions in a helpful manner. She has a great personal touch with her patients. I would highly recommend her to anyone in need of an OB/GYN.
