About Dr. James Boyd

My medical career started in college when I became an EMT, and progressed through a variety of medical positions medical assistant, stress testing technician, and phlebotomist as my passion for the medical profession grew. My path led me to the University of Colorado School of Medicine, from which I graduated in 2008, and continued my training at Legacy Emanuel Internal Medicine program here in the Portland area. I am board certified in Internal Medicine. Since completing my residency training in 2011, I pursued and completed further training in reproductive health topics, gender affirming care, and lifestyle medicine. I am currently a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine working to complete board certification in 2024.
I look forward to partnering with patients in a direct primary care model in order to provide superior and individualized care.
I love the outdoors, and enjoying hiking, cycling, and sailing in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Seeing that I haven't had the best experience with Doctors, I am extremely hesitant &/or picky when I am forced to find a new doctor. However, after meeting with Dr. Boyd, I feel very confident that I am in good hands. He, unlike some of the Doctors I have seen in my past, was attentive to my Medical History & began our conversation with pinpointed "concerns" or topics that I had described in a more thorough manner on that documentation.
I would highly recommend Dr. Boyd to anyone who is seeking a new/different GP.
