About Dr. Shawnte Yates
My approach to medicine is to understand you and your journey, to get to the root of your health concerns. I create personalized and practical treatment plans designed to fit your state of health, your busy schedule, and your budget. Whether you've been sick for as long as you can remember or simply want to feel your best, we will work together to help you reach your fullest potential so you can enjoy life on your terms.
Whether you've been diagnosed with a chronic illness like diabetes, heart disease, or an autoimmune disease, or you have nagging symptoms with seemingly no underlying cause such as headaches, digestive upset, or pain, your body is still working to move back into a state of optimal function. Through my training in naturopathy, classical Chinese medicine, and modern evidence-based medicine, I will help you discover the tools you need to regain your innate vitality. As a naturopathic doctor and licensed acupuncturist, I am trained to understand the changes that occur when someone moves from a state of health to a state of illness. This means I can treat a wide array of conditions and symptoms, even if you've been told “there is nothing wrong with you.”
I earned my Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, Master's in Oriental Medicine, and Certificate in Natural Childbirth from the National University of Natural Medicine. I also hold a Bachelor's degree from the University of Central Florida.

Very professional, informative and welcoming. I was able to have a cup of tea while i waited, which was less than 10 only because i had to fill out new patient forms. I enjoyed the atmosphere. This was my first time getting a acupuncture treatment and it was great! My body is still relaxed. Im excited for my next appointment!

This was my first time trying acupuncture and I was unsure how I would like it. I went to several appointments with Doctor Yates. I found the office to feel more clinical than relaxing, yet the process itself was not too painful or uncomfortable. The main thing I didn't like about her office is that it was always very busy and she was often running late. At least twice I realized that we started almost ten minutes late and it ended 10-20 minutes early causing a 60 minute appointment to be cut to 30-40 minutes. I just feel like if you're paying for a 60 minute appointment, you should get all 60 minutes. The acupuncture itself felt nice, but I probably will look for a more punctual acupuncturist in the future.

Loved the experience. It's so nice to have a doctor that believes in taking care of your health, rather than dealing with disease symptoms. Dr. Yates had lots of good nutrition ideas, and was very supportive.

Dr. Yates has such a positive attitude. She listens and is able to explain things so that they make sense. The treatment I've received has been amazing. A family member started seeing Dr. Yates a few months ago & I've seen how much Dr. Yates has helped this family member. After seeing Dr. Yates I feel so much better physically & mentally. Each time I see her I feel better & better I wish we could clone Dr. Yates & everyone could benefit from Dr. Yates - she's the best =)

Dr. Yates is a wonderful naturopathic physician. She combines a very thorough knowledge of biomedicine with her caring bedside manner to allow a patient to feel totally comfortable with their care in her hands. The combination of Chinese medicine in her treatments has had me leaving her office feeling recentered with my life in general. I highly recommend Dr. Yates!

Dr. Shawnte intuitively knows what I need and I'm always reassured that I'm on the path that's healing for me. She structures each visit to fit my need in that moment and the flexibility allows me to shift when Im stuck. I always feel cared for and listened to and that is HUGE in the healing process.
