About Dr. Lydia Collins
Dr. Collins grew up in Chicago. She graduated with Honors from the University of Chicago and trained at Loyola Stritch School of Medicine & Mt. Sinai Medical Center before moving to Portland in 1989. She has worked in a wide variety of settings including Great Lakes Naval Base, the Navaho Indian Reservation in New Mexico, taught acupuncture in Vietnam and consulted for the World Health Organization in post-NATO war Kosovo. She was also an assistant professor at OHSU for 8 years.
Dr. Collins loves photography, music and being in nature. She is passionate about her volunteer work as a Solutions Counselor for the Audubon Portland Wildlife Care Center.
Dr. Collins has extensive experience in office procedures including colposcopy, endometrial biopsy, LEEP, and difficult IUD insertions and removals. She manages a full range of gynecological problems but is also happy to provide routine care.
Dr. Collins sees her long-time established patients and is also accepting new patients.

I am so happy I went to Dr. Collins for my annual visit! I have been to 4 other OBGYN offices in my life and this was by far the most pleasant. I have quite a bit of anxiety around these visits and Dr. Collins was incredibly understanding, listened to my concerns and actually explained some of the reasons why pelvic exams may be so tough for me. In this appointment, she built up trust, validated my concerns, and made me feel incredibly cared for. Could not recommend enough!

I think the most important part was walking in to an environment that immediately felt safe and friendly. Not only that, but having your doctor listen and provide helpful feedback. I enjoyed my experience for many reasons, but the safe environment and bedside manner played the most important in my visit.

Dr Collins was great! She explained everything very well and I left the appointment feeling more confident then when I came in. The office was clean and cute. Loved the plants. Her nurse was also very personable and professional but made me feel like I was a friend rather than a patient! 10:10 reccomend this office to others!

Dr. Collins is always very personable, relatable, and professional. She makes me feel at ease for a very intimate exam. She doesn't sugarcoat health issues (i.e. weight) but she doesn't make me feel like I have to beat myself up about it. The very best kind of doctor.
