About Dr. Casey McCain
A native Houstonian, Dr. Casey McCain returned to Texas to earn her Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio after graduating from Duke University with a Bachelor of Arts in Classical Languages. She completed her residency in Family Medicine at the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System’s Memorial Family Medicine Residency Program in 2011. Following residency, Dr. McCain joined a private practice providing family health care to fellow Texans in Northeast Houston.
Over the last six years, Dr. McCain has grown to know the area and her patients well. Practicing in a large clinic, she has had the advantage of learning ways to improve the physician-patient relationship while also focusing on Preventative Medicine, diabetes, and other associated chronic conditions. She has also recently become interested in Obesity Medicine, leading her to become an active member of The Obesity Medicine Association and to complete the certification process to become a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine in 2016. She has served as Medical Director for New Horizons Wellness Center for the last four years and also ventured into telemedicine as a physician for Teladoc. These diverse learning environments and experiences have led Dr. McCain to open a new private practice with the goal of creating her own patient-centered medical home for residents of Northeast Houston.
In life outside the office, Dr. McCain enjoys exploring all that Houston has to offer, such as expanding her culinary interests, participating in charity runs, trying out the newest fitness craze, and spending time with her husband, dogs, family, and friends—not necessarily in that order.
