During her time as a medical student, she was a highly active participant in various committees and held the esteemed position of president for the school's chapter of the Student National Medical Association, earning top awards for their exceptional efforts in community service. As a resident, she served as the residency liaison to the Shelby County Chapter of the Tennessee Family Practice Association, and was appointed as a delegate to both statewide and national gatherings. Since relocating to the North Dallas area in 1999, Dr. Brown has established herself as a leading primary care physician, first practicing in Flower Mound and Lewisville before joining Internal Medicine Associates of Plano in 2008. Her commitment to her community extends beyond her medical practice, as she is actively involved in various social organizations that strive to make a positive impact on the lives of those in need, whether it be through providing clothing for the homeless, furnishings and clothing for battered women, or uplifting and educating children. Many years Dr. Brown was named one of the Top Doctors in Dallas, Texas in Family Medicine by US News and World Report and Castle Connolly, an honor bestowed upon only the top 1% of physicians in the United States.
