In practice since 1993, Dr. Atkinson specializes in pediatric ophthalmology and surgery for strabismus in all age groups. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of California, San Diego, completed his residency at the University of Pittsburgh, and pursued a fellowship there as well. Although he initially retired in 2019, he returned to the field to help out during the COVID-19 pandemic. This experience deepened his appreciation for the trust that patients and families place in him. He strives to be personable and fun in the exam room and always does his best to provide excellent care.
