About Dr. Cherise Mizrahi-Levi
Dr. Cherise Mizrahi-Levi is an industry leading Board-Certified Dermatologist who trained and practiced for several years in the heart of New York City. Founding partners, Dr. Levi and her husband Adir Levi, opened Ayana Dermatology in order to infuse their authentic Manhattan expertise and knowledge into a state-of-the-art practice approach.
Specializing in both medical and cosmetic dermatology, Dr. Levi’s philosophy is to create and nourish the health and radiance of her patients’ skin by emphasizing rejuvenation and natural aesthetics. She fosters the link between mind and body, incorporating the role that nutrition, stress optimization, and homeostasis of all body systems plays towards attaining complete skin health. Her practice approach is a customized treatment plan for each individual to achieve the harmonious balance between restoration of overall health and glowing skin.
Dr. Levi graduated summa cum laude of Psi Sigma Alpha National Honor Society from the University of Florida, with a dual degree in chemistry and nutritional science, and later at the top of her medical school class at Nova Southeastern University. She served as Chief Resident in the rigorous dermatology residency program at St. Barnabas Hospital, a Level II Trauma Center in Bronx, New York. During her subsequent years working in private practice in Manhattan, she simultaneously held the prestigious staff position as a faculty attending physician at Columbia University, New York Presbyterian Hospital. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, and an active member of several professional dermatology associations.
She has published numerous articles in the field of dermatology, as well as conducting NIH-sponsored research for the treatment of children with atopic dermatitis. She has lectured nationally on her extensive research involving product development for skin pigmentation and the treatment of melasma. Her unique expertise and passion for biologically active cosmeceuticals began during her time working side by side with the leading chemist for a renowned skin care company, helping to develop and test formulations.
Dr. Levi has cared for patients internationally, having travelled to rural communities in India to educate local providers, help rebuild schools and administer medical care. She has led global health panels, community outreach and charity galas for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine Emerging Leader’s organization. Throughout her career, Dr. Levi has taken pride in educating and mentoring as she taught young physicians both in her private practice and as a hospital faculty member. She is dedicated to providing the highest quality of skincare, incorporating advanced technology into the latest and most cutting edge developments in the field of dermatology. In her free time, she is a devoted wife and mother, with a passion for yoga, skiing, the ocean, music and travel.

I don’t completely dislike her. I just don’t agree that she knows about all hair types. And the pharmacy she recommended is a bit costly. How ever she seem like she was all medical terms and it really didn’t seem like she cared about my condition. I don’t know maybe that day she had a lot going on but unfortunately I don’t want to go back. Even if I did try the meds she prescribed I’m going to get a second opinion.

The doctor was a little condescending and barely even listened to me describe my situation before rushing to give me a sample for a treatment. I will be seeing another doctor. I think I had valid concerns that were brushed off in an unprofessional way.

Overall I thought she was thorough, honest and straight forward. She was able to give you time for any questions or concerns that you may have. You can definitely tell she knows her stuff when you talk to her about your concerns. Her scheduling and wait time was unreasonably unexpected for over an hour and a half, but they admitted that they screwed up on scheduling and apologized.
I will definitely be back, and would recommend her for any medical or cosmetic dermatological needs. =)
