Dr. Claudette Pilger is a Virginia and Washington, DC-licensed clinical psychologist with more than 10 years experience working with adults, adolescents and children who are experiencing emotional, behavioral, or learning difficulties. At her McLean, Virginia office, she provides individual, couples and family therapy, ADHD support and coaching, as well as psychological and psychoeducational testing and clinical supervision.
Dr. Pilger’s areas of expertise include psychodynamic treatment of anxiety, depression, post traumatic stress disorder, panic disorder, relationship issues and adjustment to life changes such as divorce. She has a strong interest in and background in treating ADHD, and is a member of the local CHADD organization. Her psychological evaluations can help clarify differential diagnosis and shed light on treatment impasses.
Dr. Pilger is interested in psychodynamic treatment research. As a member of a team of psychologists and psychiatrists at DC Panic Research Study, she provides free twice weekly psychotherapy to eligible volunteers.
Dr. Pilger also provides psychoeducational evaluations to assist students who would benefit from IEPs for placement FCPS programs for students with ADHD, learning and/or emotional disabilities, advanced academic (AA) programs, or who are in need of updated testing for accommodations for the SAT, GRE or LSAT.
