Getting to know Alexander Viglis
Alex is a Licensed Resident in Counseling who provides services primarily for children, adolescents, and young adults, though he has experience working with individuals of all ages. His goal with every client is to create a safe space where they can share their experiences and fully process any struggles they bring to therapy.
His approach to counseling combines Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Relational-Cultural Therapy, and Gestalt Therapy. He has found that these theoretical approaches complement each other, offering an empowering, culturally sensitive therapeutic environment that considers both the individual and their support network. Alex also incorporates mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Play Therapy techniques. He has clinical experience working with clients facing anxiety, depression, relational issues, trauma, OCD, ADHD, life and occupational stressors and transitions, sexuality and identity exploration, grief, and parenting challenges.
Alex completed his master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Marymount University and is working toward his licensure as an LPC. Before his master's, he studied psychology at Marymount University, where his interest in early childhood development was sparked. Alex believes that the client is the expert on their own life, and that the counselor's role is to assist in facilitating growth in the areas the client chooses.

Now, I’m wondering if I’ll regret posting a review of my psychiatriic care on a public forum that’s indexed by google…no matter.
