Colin Rock, MD spent most of his childhood and early adult life in Minnesota. It was at the University of Minnesota that he graduated with distinction with a B.S. in Biochemistry. During his undergraduate years he spent multiple summers performing research at the Mayo Clinic and the University of Minnesota. He has been published in multiple medical journals in the fields of orthopedic and general surgery. Upon completion of undergraduate studies, he went to medical school at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. He stayed at Northwestern for his intern year of residency where he focused in general surgery. He then went on to his anesthesiology residency at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where he was awarded the Resident Award for Academic Excellence in his graduating class. He subsequently ended his training by completing a Pain Medicine fellowship at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD.
Dr. Rock emphasizes clinical based medicine by staying up-to-date on the current research and clinical studies. He also incorporates a multidisciplinary approach by consulting with colleagues in the fields of neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, rheumatology, psychology and more. He emphasizes traditional, interventional, pharmacological and complementary therapies in order to treat the entire body, not just the main pain complaint.
