Medical, Surgical and Cosmetic Dermatologist Education • Undergraduate: Kentucky Wesleyan College, Magna Cum Laude • Graduate: Masters in Medical Art Illustration from Medical College of Georgia • Medical School: University of Louisville School of Medicine • Internship in Pediatrics at Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky • Dermatology Residency: Ohio State University Certification Board Certification from the American Board of Dermatology Awards: Patients Choice Award Family and Interests: Dr. Abbott is married, with four children, two rescue dogs, guinea pigs, and fish. She enjoys painting murals on her children’s walls, running, and volunteering at her church, her children’s schools and for the Beltline Project. Biography: Dr. Abbott has always felt at home in two worlds, the world of science and the world of art. It’s part of what draws her to the field of dermatology, where you need both skills to bring out healthy and beautiful skin. “I feel like all my life I have been trying to combine those two,” Dr. Abbott says. “In college, I majored in both art and biology. I got my master’s in Medical Illustration, and I did a fellowship in Cosmetic Dermatology. I am a very visual person. Any treatment that I do for a patient, I would want to be aesthetically pleasing.” The visual appeal may have been what started Dr. Abbott’s interest in dermatology, but what keeps her going is the variety of people she gets to help. Dr. Abbott also completed an internship in Pediatrics at Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville. And as such, she feels she has expertise in Pediatric Dermatology and Cosmetic Dermatology. “What I mostly love about dermatology is the multi-generational factor,” Dr. Abbott says. “I love that I see kids and World War II vets in the same day.”

I LOVE Dr. Abbott. She's done one of my melanoma surgeries, and I pop in to see her about once a month to check on my scars, talk through any problem spots, and do my skin cancer screenings. Super sweet and helps calm down a very anxious patient :) Would highly recommend to anyone!
Examination seemed brief
Umm..I was on time, but had to wait a long time to see the doc. She seemed to be in a rush (not appreciated after you have to copay), trying to push a few things to the next visit, without letting me know when to schedule it. Why I really do not wish to go again tough, is because she suggested the nurse to administer steroid based injections (yeah, 2) to my scalp with neither bothering to explain me the reason, cost, dosage or the side effects, while asking me to sign the consent form. I did not get the injections and I am not going again! :/
Sign-in process was sort of frustrating. They had recently switched to a new portal so none of my prior forms saved. There were some other kinks in the sign-in/new patient technology as well.
Very nice, and right on time as always
There’s always a little anxiety being a new patient, however the staff was very pleasant and welcoming. Dr. Abbott was very understanding and addressed my concerns. She didn’t try to push a lot of lab tests; she only offered the best solution for me. I would definitely recommend her for anyone who is experiencing traction alopecia, and needs some medical advice. Also, a big thank you to Monique as well who was her aid. Between the two of them my experience was very pleasant.
I came in for a few reasons and before I could even get them out, she wanted to do a full mole body check. Ok, fine. After that, I had the brief opportunity to start talking about what I really came in for. Before I could finish, she got up and walked out on me mid-sentence. I was stunned. Never before have I ever been treated like that. The nurse that was in the room with me, Asha, just followed her without a word.
Best ever ! Thank you
Dr Abbott makes you feel so comfortable. She's attentive and positive and friendly. A+ experience.
Dr. Abbott and her assistants were unhelpful. When I entered the patient room, the assistant went over what I put down. I also inquired about the skin cancer screening. She said it wasn't on there, and they probably won't be able to do it. The assistant left. Dr. Abbott and the same assistant came back to the room. Dr. Abbott took one look at what I specifically put down as a concern, asked some questions, then said it was fine/she wasn't worried about it (I'm ok with this). She then started addressing a dry skin issue around my nose that I never raised, then began pushing for a prescription topical ointment. The entire interaction between Dr. Abbott and myself took less than a couple of minutes. Fast talking, seemed like she was in a rush. When she went to leave, I stopped and asked her about the skin cancer screening again. She replied that she has a limited number of slots available, and that she doesn't want to put other appointments behind. She then said it would be a longer appointment, immediately following with that it would take 15 minutes. How exactly is that a long appointment? They offered to setup a return appointment, which I said I would keep in mind, and again when I checked out. I declined. The entire appointment, which took less than 5 minutes, feels like I was rushed in and out just for the co-pay.
Great new location and Dr. Abbott is the best
Literally no bed side manner... wouldn't recommend to anyone
Dr. Abbot as well as the rest of the staff were very professional, knowledgeable, and kind!

I did wait for about 25 minutes before being seen, but Dr. Abbott was very kind, informative, and personable once I met with her. Her nurse was also very accommodating. I would highly recommend her.

Dr. Abbott and her nurse Monique were pleasant, knowledgeable & did a thorough check. Dr. Abbott had a very down to earth attitude which made me very comfortable.

Dr. Abbott is a wonderful insightful doctor and I am thrilled to have her on my team!
Personable, great eye contact, very knowledgeable, friendly and positive
Everything went pretty well. I was seen very quickly and the staff and Dr. Abbott was very nice. There was a minor hiccup but I believe it was a random accident and not a representation of Dr. Abbott's skills.
I love her job !! :-)
Great visit! I just went in for a quick check-in, and it went very smoothly. Even as a first-time patient, it was a painless process!
She was ok
Friendly, knowledgeable, etc. Assistant staff was good for the area (midtown Atl); not as good as Alpharetta but I can't battle traffic for that trip always.
Dr. Abbott was friendly, informative and extremely nice! I enjoyed my visit immensely.
Dr. Abbott is a tremendous Doctor. Very thorough and genuine.
The Doctor and staff were friendly and prompt. Diagnosis was quick and brief. I felt more time was needed to make a good diagnosis. I would still recommend the office for treatment.
Dr. Abbott was kind, professional, efficient, and all-around wonderful. I'd highly recommend her to anyone.
This was my first visit to Dr. Abbott, and I could not have asked for a better doctor! She was quick, thorough and incredibly personable. I had a lot to ask of her from this appointment going into it, and she was able to full-fill every demand.
Very through and efficient. Had a clear plan of how to begin working towards a diagnosis and treatment plan for my skin. She's the first dermatologist who believed me that the skin issues were more than just "minor" annoyance and is helping me find a solution after years of discomfort
Dr. Abbott was very easy to talk to and the wait was not long at all. I was in and out of the office within an hour.
Dr Abbott was very knowledgeable, professional and nice. She addressed my questions and the reason I was there right when she came into my room and after her examination she addressed another issue I hadn't initially come to her office for. I had a really good experience here and would recommend her to others looking for a dermatologist.
We are satisfied with doctor
