I get excited when I get the privilege to observe and join in the process of a patient who is optimizing their health, or taking the difficult steps necessary to change their lives for the better!
In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs?
I believe the primary care provider needs to *walk alongside* the patient, not pulling from ahead or pushing from behind. The role of any healer or helper is really most effective when the patient or participant feels equal, accepted, respected, and understood.
Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy being outside whenever able to, and also love getting a good workout in. I love music and especially experiencing a great local act. I also have a teenage daughter and she and my fiance pride themselves in proving me wrong when it comes to predicting the outcome of the latest binge-worthy Netflix drama.
