I do not ask for patient testimonials or reviews because I believe it can negatively affect the therapeutic relationship. Psychodynamic psychotherapy is a very personal process that should be kept confidential and within the confines of the doctor/patient relationship.
Dr. David Cole is a psychotherapist, psychoanalyst and psycho-pharmacologist in full-time private practice in Manhattan. He is Board Certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and has extensive experience in working with a variety of patients, with all psychiatric disorders, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, substance use, and eating disorders.
Dr. Cole attended the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed his psychiatric residency at the Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York City. After his residency, he worked for several years as an attending psychiatrist at Columbia-NY Presbyterian Hospital, after which he went into full-time private practice. He is involved at the NYU Psychoanalytic Institute and currently teaches at the NYU Medical Center.
Dr. Cole is an active member of the NYU Psychoanalytic Institute, the NYU Psychiatric Department, the American Psychiatric Association and the American Psychoanalytic Association.
