About Dr. David Shevitz

*Initial consultation may be with an assistant provider. David Shevitz, MD brings extensive experience in the minimally invasive treatment of varicose veins. He completed his undergraduate education at Muhlenberg College in Allentown PA; he obtained his Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia, with post graduate training at St. Vincent Hospital in Toledo, Ohio. Since that time, Dr. Shevitz has practiced at Boca Raton Regional Hospital in Boca Raton, Florida, and at the Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) in Charleston, West Virginia. There he held an appointment as Assistant Clinical Professor of Emergency Medicine, and Medical Director of the HealthNet Aeromedical helicopter program. Dr. Shevitz is board certified by the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine, and the American Board of Emergency Medicine. He is a member of the American Vein and Lymphatic Society and the American Medical Association. “My original specialty was Emergency Medicine. In that role, I had to have extensive knowledge for the acute care of a wide range of clinical conditions. The emergency department is a less controlled setting that is open 24/7. My patients would often be faced with serious, at times even life threatening, medical conditions,” says Dr. Shevitz. “After practicing emergency medicine for 17 years, I changed career paths, and trained extensively in the treatment of varicose veins. “I was attracted to the concept of focusing on and mastering one aspect of medicine and working in a more controlled, scheduled environment. It was also appealing to know that with this career change my patients would consistently experience positive, rewarding outcomes.
