In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs?
A primary care provider establishes a therapeutic relationship with her patient, and is an active listener and partner in care. The provider utilizes a holistic approach incorporating physical, emotional , and psychological care in the treatment of the patient.
What makes you passionate about being a healthcare provider?
As a healthcare provider of 36 years, I have always enjoyed helping people. I have been a BCLS instructor many years, and CPR certified since the age of 17. One person can make a difference. My belief is that healthcare should be affordable and accessible for all.
Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time?
I am a board certified nurse practitioner with a doctorate degree, and over 25 years of advanced practice experience. I enjoy spending time with my family, fishing and taking long walks on the beach. I relax with my husband and my French, English and American bulldogs.

I felt pretty hopeless as she told me she can’t help me. Also told me to get off anxiety medications. Sorry but no. I only take them a few times a week if needed. Seemed condescending talking about my PC. Will not use again.
