About Dr. Dennis Chernin
I am excited to offer consultations in holistic and homeopathic medicine. Each person will need to have their own primary care physician and relevant specialists. We will not be writing prescriptions, ordering blood or radiology tests or making specialist referrals.
Homeopathy:
1. Prescribing homeopathic medicines with a focus on constitutional and reoccurring illnesses. My focus will be on treating miasms - a concept referring to underlying susceptibility due to both genetic and environmental factors, leading to chronic disorders making humans vulnerable to disease.
2. Remedies can be used to treat side effects of allopathic medicines.
Meditation and Yoga Therapies:
I. I will also be using meditation on chakras, mantras and breath, yoga postures and breathing techniques as helpful adjuncts to traditional medical care for conditions such as thyroid illness, gastrointestinal reflux, irritable bowel syndrome and anxiety.
2. Instruction with a focus on developing a consistent meditation practice to help manage stress.
Nutrition:
1. Discuss and individualize for patient’s different diets: anti-inflammatory, vegan, vegetarian, keto, Mediterranean, Adkins, intermittent fasting, raw foods, pescatarian, paleo, gluten free, DASH, diabetic, renal.
2. Suggest anti-inflammatory and antioxidant supplementation and nutraceuticals.
3. Suggest mitochondrial health supplementation.
Preventive Care:
1. I will follow the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) which makes evidence-based recommendations about preventive services such as screenings, behavioral counseling, and preventive medications.
2. Help with decisions on vaccines: childhood, pneumonia, shingles, flu, covid, RSV, pertussis, travel recommendations.
3. Screening recommendations for various illnesses and stressors.
4. Exercise recommendations including discussion and possible demonstration of aerobic. exercise, gentle joint and gland exercise, yoga postures and tai chi movements for therapeutic benefit.
