Getting to know Diana Pieterson
One hand I extend into myself, the other towards others.
A nurse who is scared of blood-that is how my family always describes me, and I always tell them, “That's why I chose mental health.” But in reality, mental health chose me. My passion for mental health began when I started working with individuals with developmental disabilities in group homes as a direct care staff over 20 years ago. I quickly realized I could serve them better, which led me on my journey through nursing school. I became a delegating nurse in 2009 and eventually a PMHNP to provide people with better quality of care and access to care. I hold an Associate degree in Nursing from Howard Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Stevenson University (Maryland), and a Master's in Nursing from Walden University (Minnesota). I'm well-traveled and, as a result, have reputable experience within this industry. I believe in transparency, effective communication, and treating people with respect. My favorite time is spent reading suspense novels and watching dramas with subtitles.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Gracious health services is focused on making sure patients are able to take care of their mental health by educating them on their diagnosis process and medication management. At GHS, we believe in good communication and, as much as possible, a stress free interaction.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Sessions are confidential and one-on-one in a judgement free environment to help explore patient's thought, and challenges to foster medication compliance for a better outcome.
