As a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in adult, geriatric, and forensic psychiatry, I provide a compassionate, evidence-based approach to mental health care. With experience serving a diverse population, including Russian-speaking patients, I understand the importance of cultural sensitivity in mental health care. I welcome new patients who are ready to take the next step in their mental wellness journey, and I am committed to helping you achieve meaningful and lasting improvements in your quality of life.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
When working with new clients, my first priority is to understand your unique concerns, symptoms, and goals. During the initial evaluation, I conduct a thorough psychiatric assessment, including your medical and mental health history, current challenges, and any past treatments. This allows me to develop an accurate diagnosis and create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs. I specialize in adult psychiatry and in the treatment of Opioid Use Disorder. I do not treat alcohol or methamphetamine addiction or other non-opioid substance use disorders, and patients with those needs are typically referred to an appropriate specialist. Cannabis use is not a barrier to care here.
I offer a comprehensive approach that includes both medication management and supportive psychotherapy. While my primary focus is on ensuring that medications are used effectively and safely, I also integrate talk therapy into our sessions. Supportive psychotherapy provides a space to discuss challenges, gain insight, and develop coping strategies in a way that complements medication treatment. My approach is collaborative, meaning we will regularly assess progress and adjust treatment as needed.
Follow-up sessions focus on monitoring medication efficacy, addressing any side effects, and providing ongoing therapeutic support. My goal is to help you achieve long-term stability and improved well-being in a way that aligns with your lifestyle and values.
