Dr. Dmitry Malkin, MD
Dr. Malkin’s passion for psychiatry began in medical school, where he realized his calling was to help patients lead happier and more productive lives. His approach to treatment includes psychotherapeutic techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, rational-emotive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, psychopharmacology and life coaching – various tools which he uses to help his patients overcome their difficulties in order to fulfill their personal and professional potential. Dr. Malkin approaches every patient as a unique individual. His treatment philosophy is that psychiatric medications and herbal supplements are some of the tools that can be used to achieve a balance. A strong believer in a collaborative approach, after a thorough evaluation Dr. Malkin helps his patients understand how to move forward considering their unique set of issues and circumstances. In addition to treating conditions such as Major Depressive, Anxiety, Panic, Bipolar and Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, Dr. Malkin’s special area of expertise is Attention Deficit Disorder (ADHD). Drawing from his extensive experience in treating ADHD as a college counseling center psychiatrist, Dr. Malkin helps patients with ADHD in all walks of life. Attention Deficit Disorder as a condition which often goes unrecognized and can significantly affect major areas of life. Patients often do not realize the impact it can have on their relationships, professional careers and overall sense of well-being. Through a combination of individually tailored behavioral adjustments and strategies, Dr. Malkin helps his patients achieve their life goals and a sense of contentment. Please be aware that Dr. Malkin does not accept any form of insurance but can provide you with a form that can be submitted for out-of-network reimbursement. Dr Malkin is a board-certified psychiatrist who graduated from University of Buffalo.
