“I met with Dr. Kristina Kurtz for the first time today. She immediately put me at ease. She listened to my psychiatric history, my concerns, and gave me a clear understanding of what may be going on with my current medication. What I really appreciated was her conservative approach to making medication changes, what she would suggest, and what I might expect. I feel I am in good hands from a helpful and knowledgeable doctor!”

She believes that medication management is most effective when an environment of shared decision-making exists between the prescriber and the patient and tailors her approach to meet each individual patient’s needs.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Dr. Kristina Kurtz practices at Talkiatry, a patient-centered, online psychiatry practice. Talkiatry providers specialize in medication management and treat a wide range of mental health conditions. They take a personalized approach to care, ensuring that treatment is rooted in a strong patient-provider relationship and a responsible, evidence-based approach to prescribing. We know that every mental health journey is unique, and we’re here to make yours feel manageable and supported at every step.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We start with a comprehensive first visit, where you and your provider will discuss your goals, medical history, and what brings you to treatment. From there, you’ll work with your provider to create a care plan that feels right for you, which may include medication, therapy, or both. If your provider recommends medication, they’ll walk you through your options—our goal is always to help you make informed choices about your care. You’ll meet with your provider regularly for follow-up visits to check in, adjust your care as needed, and make sure you feel supported in your journey.

I was extremely pleased! She took her time to go over my meds. She listened to some of my weird situation. She was sweet enough to give her opinion and it actually made a lot of sense. Thank you. Toinette Markowitz
