Nurse Practitioner (Psychiatry)
WA
Feeling like your provider doesn't understand your unique identity? Wondering if you have ADHD? I am particularly passionate about uplifting BIPOC and LGBTQ communities, and I specialize in ADHD testing and evaluation and medication management in adults. I'm also drawn to helping folks who have felt unheard by past providers, or may have even experienced medical trauma. Did you know ADHD can look different in adults, women, and LGBTQ+ folks? I specialize in identifying uncommon features of ADHD, not relying on outdated theories and textbooks to guide my care. I never pressure for medication, and always prioritize you as the expert of your own experience. I listen without judgment, stay fully present, and at times (tastefully) use humor to lighten heaviness. I also strongly believe in the health benefits of nutrition, movement, and sleep, because the answer isn't always medication. Let's work together to get you thriving instead of just surviving. My credentials: I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, Summa Cum Laude, from Vanderbilt University located in Nashville, TN. I also earned my Master of Science in Nursing degree from Vanderbilt University (School of Nursing).

What should a new client know about working with you?

**I only offer initial psychiatric evaluations and ADHD testing. If ongoing care is needed, follow-ups will be scheduled with our other lovely provider, Stanford Call ARNP, PMHNP-BC** Edwards Psychiatry is a private-pay clinic (out-of-network with all insurance) providing superbills and accepting HSA/FSA benefits. After your visit, you’ll be able to quickly download your superbill (itemized receipt) from the Tebra patient portal. If your plan includes out-of-network benefits, you can submit this to your insurance to see if they’ll reimburse part of the cost. Or, it could apply towards your deductible.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first step together is a psychiatric evaluation (up to 60 minutes). This visit is available for anyone ages 6 and older who may be exploring a first-time or updated diagnosis, looking to transfer care, or simply wanting a second opinion. Because mental health can be complex, one meeting doesn’t always give us the full picture. We may start with a “working diagnosis” to help guide treatment, knowing that we can refine it as we continue to get to know each other. During the evaluation, we’ll spend time: a) getting to know you, b) talking about your current health, past medications, psychiatric and medical history, substance use, development, and family or social background, c) shaping a working diagnosis, and d) creating a personalized treatment plan (which may or may not include medication)

At Edwards Psychiatry, we’re a self-pay practice, which means we don’t bill insurance directly and are considered out-of-network with all insurance providers. After your visit, you’ll be able to quickly download a superbill (an itemized receipt) from the Tebra patient portal. If your plan includes out-of-network benefits, you can submit this to your insurance to see if they’ll reimburse part of the cost. Or, it could apply towards your deductible. We accept Zelle (preferred), Venmo, and credit/debit cards—including HSA and FSA cards.
