Kelly LaPointe, PMHNP-BC
Kelly LaPointe is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in Ohio who has been practicing since 2019. She earned her Master’s of Science in Nursing, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, from The Ohio State University, a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing, and an Associate of Science in Nursing from Ohio University.
With more than two decades of nursing experience in the psychiatric field, Kelly’s background spans child to adult inpatient care, community mental health crisis stabilization, and many years in medical critical care settings. Her goal is to provide evidence-based treatment in a non-judgmental, comfortable, and trusting environment that encourages and empowers clients to be active partners in creating individualized care plans. Kelly focuses on caring for patients with mood disorders, anxiety, PTSD, psychosis, personality disorders, substance abuse, and chronic mental illness through assessment, medication management, interprofessional collaboration, and brief psychotherapeutic intervention.
Outside of work, Kelly has been married to her husband, Glenn, for 27 years. They are adjusting to empty-nest syndrome by sharing their home with two Newfoundlands (one weighing 160 pounds), an Old English Sheepdog, and a tiny Silky Terrier who can hold her own with the big dogs. Kelly enjoys traveling, spending time with family, reading, and watching a good movie.
