“Dr. Donald Lawrence is an outstanding physician. His expertise and compassionate care make him a true asset. His personal staff upstairs, including Marissa, are wonderful.
However, I must express my deep dissatisfaction with the woman conducting bloodwork on my minor child at the Mount Sinai Five Towns office in the lower level.
Her conduct was rude & abrasive, wholly inappropriate for someone working with children. She said, "What are you crying for?" & got in his face as if he were a troublemaker.
When my son called her rude & bad I made sure he apologized for calling her bad. However, her response—scoffing and rolling her eyes—was unprofessional and unacceptable. As I was leaving, I noticed her gossiping with two nurses on the first floor.
Children naturally get scared of bloodwork and vaccinations. Her apathy & cruelty go against the principles of compassion nurses should have. She should evaluate why she chose nursing.

“Recently switched to Dr. Lawrence for both my kids and it has been a great change. Blood is drawn there I don’t have to take my two kids anywhere else. My questions and concerns are answered, he is also very thorough with his check-ups and provides great advice. He knew what to do with my kids before receiving their previous records and it’s always a great visit. The nurses are helpful and friendly every single time and don’t rush you or make you feel like you’re in their way. I get print outs reviewing each visit as well as print outs on specific information regarding the visit ex: immunization shots and bloodwork requested so I am able to understand what it all is for without the hard terms.”

Dr. Donald Lawrence is a dedicated and compassionate pediatrician based in Hewlett, NY. Dr. Lawrence received his medical degree from New York Medical College. He completed his residency in pediatrics at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, NY.
Dr. Lawrence is a part of the pediatric staff of Mount Sinai Five Towns Medical Group. He is the school physician for Lawrence Public Schools. Previously, he was pediatrician-in-charge at Bainbridge Naval Training Center in Bainbridge, MD. Dr. Lawrence is board certified in pediatrics and an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Stellar. The nurse, Serena, laughed and giggled with my daughter like an old friend. She made her feel special and comfortable immediately. The front desk person was polite and thorough, the office was clean and Dr. Lawrence couldn’t have been nicer. I wish I would’ve found this place when my daughter was a baby so she could’ve been experiencing them for years.

Place is really nice and staff are great my only concern is when my son got blood work done the nurses could not successfully get the blood they needed and they had to make several attempts of having to continue to prick my son with a needle until they sent us downstairs and found someone that could actually do it because of that my son got badly brused and marks on his arm so not sure if those nurses are new but they didn't know what they're were doing

I was the first appointment of the day for a wellness check-up for my child, so it was my hope to be in and out quickly based on wait time reviews that I read and the tight schedule I was working with. However, that was not the case. It is understandable that new patients take much longer for a number of reasons, but we were there for almost 1.5 hrs and there were no other patients in the office until we were headed out of the door. The wait was unrelated to the care that was provided. The physician took a long time to come in to see my child and an even longer time to release us although everything was clinically stable. Nothing out of the ordinary was done during the visit. I was sorely disappointed as this set back my plans for the rest of the day. If the place was busy, I do not know how they would have managed at all. Not a great experience. Unsure if I will return.

Dr. Lawrence is Dr. Lalia's counterpart. Dr. Lalia was om vacation and my son was not feeling well. He referred me to a GI specialist right away in order to consult in my son's special needs.
